Sustainability
that have a positive impact
It is evident the growth that tourism has had in Colombia in recent years, thus demanding a shift towards the responsibility of making a sustainable tourism for all parties that make up the value chain, it is for this reason that in Go and Travel since 2020 we actively participate as members of Acotur, the Colombian association that works for the development and promotion of sustainable tourism.
Planting trees is a fundamental action to promote sustainability and environmental preservation. As an agency, by carrying out this initiative in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta with native trees, we not only contribute to local biodiversity, but also generate environmental awareness among our travelers. Planting trees not only helps to combat deforestation, but also contributes to carbon sequestration, improves air quality and preserves the region's unique ecosystems. This collaboration between the agency and travelers creates a tangible link with nature, fostering a culture of environmental stewardship and promoting shared responsibility towards a more sustainable future.
The release of bees, in particular the collaboration between Go and Travel, travelers exploring the department of Guainía and Fundación Aroma Verde, is an initiative that transcends mere environmental action. By focusing on native bees, specifically those that make up the Meliponini tribe with its 14 genera and 120 species in Colombia, it highlights the richness and biological diversity of the country. The importance of this practice lies in their crucial role in pollination, which not only ensures the survival of various plant species, but also contributes to food production. This joint effort not only supports local biodiversity, but also places sustainability at the heart of travel experiences, fostering a connection between visitors and the conservation of the natural environment we all share.
At Go and Travel, our mission is focused on sustainability and energizing the local economy. Through close collaboration with more than 100 local hosts throughout Colombia, we not only offer authentic experiences to our travelers, but also boost the economic development of communities. By working directly with local hosts, we generate employment opportunities, promote the preservation of regional culture and traditions, and encourage responsible tourism practices. Each experience is not only a journey, but an active contribution to the sustainable growth of the regions we are privileged to explore, building bridges between travelers and local communities.
