And then out of nowhere or at all appears the jungle! It is so extensive and dense that if I fell on it, it would be an eternal night, because it is completely full of vegetation that not even the sun's rays have a place to enter. And in the background, as you advance, the Pacific Ocean appears, and we land.

Upon arrival the boatman was waiting for us to take us to our hotel. Our recommendation is that for this destination you should wear comfortable clothes, good shoes for walking in the jungle, mosquito repellent and swimsuit. Upon arrival at the village we recommend you to buy supplies of things to eat, on the beach we will visit live with very basic things so it is difficult to find open stores.

Qué hacer en Nuquí

From Nuquí, we went to the beaches of Guachalito in the Tribugá gulf. We were on the boat and as we went in August, our boatman told us that it was possible to see dolphins and humpback whales on the way (we were not lucky this time). If I had been taken blindfolded to this place, I would swear I was traveling the beaches of Thailand on my way to the mythical beaches of Krabi, but we are in Colombia, and we arrived at our paradise, Guachalito, and the world stopped, the calm came and life begins to make sense. There is no good cell phone signal, so the screens are changed by the scenery offered by this magical destination.

There are not many hotels, and there are not many tourists, there is no electricity during the day, the water is taken from a spring inside the jungle. We arrived at our hotel in front of the sea, it was composed of small private cabins, and with the best service you can imagine. Everything very simple, because here luxury is no longer important, the luxury in this place is nature, people, food and energy. Celina was our chef, the kindest woman who fed us for seven days and additionally taught us how to cook. She taught us how to prepare coconut rice. The food was completely fresh, locally grown, caught the same day. A luxury we don't always have in our homes.

We had many plans ahead of us, diving, kayaking, hiking in the jungle in search of poison dart frogs, visiting the hot springs, and the most desired of all, watching the humpback whale. And we thought we were going on a rest plan and there was so much this place had to give us that we fell short in the week we were there. In the mornings we went for a walk along the beach and we found small streams that reached the sea, and we started to border the jungle and a few meters from the beach we reached large rivers and beautiful waterfalls of crystal clear and clean water. We bathed in the ravine of the grandparents and lovers. These are plans for a few hours and can be done on your own in about two or three hours.

One of the afternoons we went with an expert boatman in search of Humpback Whales! You must know where to see them and be in communication with the different guides to find them for sure. We had been searching for about an hour and out of nowhere a whale appears with two small whale calves next to it, such giant animals, so calm, and they start playing in front of us. A unique experience that you can only live in this area of Colombia from August to October approximately.

The best waves in Colombia for surfing are in this place. So we took a lesson one of the days, we didn't learn anything because it was impossible for me, I have to keep looking for my balance (Oops).

Two additional mornings we went diving! to explore another world, the underwater one! in that one the only thing left is to connect with the present, to live it to the fullest. You start to see schools of different fish, divine corals, sea horses and luckily a giant turtle and a manta ray! Every day I spend some time at the beach, a huge beach without people, without anyone around me.

Doesn't all this look like paradise to you? To me it's the best place in my country!
