What should you bring to make your trip unforgettable?

• Sunscreen for your body and lips, hopefully a natural one.
• Insect repellent.
• Sunglasses with a good protection filter, we recommend at least UV400.
• Thermos, Camelback or something to carry water. This helps us to avoid the consumption of bottled water.
• A small towel to take with you to activities.
• Personal hygiene items.
• Snorkeling goggles
• Identity documents and medical insurance.

Clothing that we recommend you to wear:

• Comfortable and preferably quick-drying synthetic clothing. Since these are jungle areas, the colors should be light and they should be pants and long-sleeved shirts.
• Comfortable shoes for hiking in the mountains.

• Hat or cap to protect you from the sun.

How to get to Jardín?

You must go to the Terminal de Transportes Sur and take a bus from the company Rápido Ochoa. The bus from Medellín to Jardín takes approximately 3 hours to get there, and each way you can get it from $25.000 COP. You can also travel in your private vehicle, Jardín is located 3 hours and a half from Medellín and before arriving you could stop in several places.

Itinerary- Two days of adventure in Jardín.

Día 1: Viajar a Jardín Antioquia

We recommend leaving very early in the morning so that you arrive before lunch time in Jardín. One of the stops we usually make before arriving and it is halfway and perfect for breakfast typical Colombian food: Restaurant La Mayoría in San Juan Peñalisa. Before arriving in town, we will recommend several places for lunch, our recommendation is undoubtedly to visit La Argelia, a mill and trout farm where you can eat everything typical of this area. Then, in the afternoon and after checking in at the hotel:

Jardín has hundreds of cultural, historical and natural attractions, every corner of it deserves to be enjoyed. First, you should start by visiting the main square with its colorful tables and chairs that brighten up the landscape and the life of the locals. At the end of the square is the imposing church with its neoclassical art that steals all eyes. Seeing it inside is much more impressive, very close to there is the Clara Rojas Museum. This museum has various antique objects, woven paintings, photographs and much more that tell about the tradition and history of Jardín.

Tras recorrer el pueblo, te recomendamos tomar un Tuk Tuk para visitar el mirador del Cristo Rey, te dejará a 10 minutos y debes continuar caminando. También puedes llegar caminando desde el pueblo y te tardarás aproximadamente una hora. IMPORTANTE: Cuando llegues, no dejes de apreciar el panorama disfrutando de una taza de café.

If you are adventurous and want to know how the peasants used to transport themselves around their farms and villages, you must ride the La Garrucha cable car. It looks like a flying basket. Then you could walk down a nature trail that leads to the Corazón puddle.

Then, enjoy a night in the park and go to bed early because there are many more things to do.

Día 2: Viajar a Jardín Antioquia

The day should start very early, at 7:00 am you should be having breakfast to take advantage of the morning hours with less sun. Depending on what you want, you could do nature hikes of different intensities. Some of the easy hikes, such as the Herrera Trail, do not require a guide. But other more advanced hikes should be done with experts. Intermediate hikes can last about 3 hours. Advanced, between 4 to 6 hours (the Cueva del Esplendor, the Salto del Angel, an impressive waterfall, the Cueva de los Guácharos, where you can do more bird watching) On your return, have lunch in one of the restaurants in town and then you should visit La Casa de los Dulces to take some souvenirs with you.

Our recommendation is to return by 4:00 pm at the latest to Medellín or continue on to your next destination. Although an extra day in Jardín would be great.
