Trips that could have been and were not - Fragment 3.
We will return to design to experience travel from a new reality, more human, calmer, more natural.
Turkey, March 2020.
Valeria, Veronica and Camila, this is simply our imagination trying to recreate an adventure that we had designed to be unforgettable.
There are 12 kilos we can carry, we can't pack everything, it's only 4 days. But what do we take to see the sunrise on the balloon, where do we meet, in new ministries or do we meet directly at the Barajas airport? These are the conversations we imagine they would have before leaving for the trip. As we cannot know how something that is not, we are going to leave you with some imaginary images of what we dreamed it would be like.
They arrived in Istanbul and had to rush off to catch the flight to Kayseri, the gateway to the Goreme desert. They arrived at the hotel and did not realize how many hours they had traveled. The room is perfect, it is a cave lodge typical of the region and has a terrace with a magnificent view, which augured perfect images of the sunrise.
4:30 am, the guide was in the hall, they had to leave without showering, they were still asleep when they arrived at the esplanade where the balloons were waiting for them. It took off so smoothly that they didn't feel when the sky began to turn purple. In the distance, some snow-capped peaks were still visible. Slowly everything starts to turn orange and a bunch of balloons appear in the sky. The perfect image, a unique picture of a dream fulfilled.
Istanbul, 9:00am, 15 minutes since they left the hotel. They were leaving Asia, crossing the Galata Bridge to reach Europe. They hear bells, sounds coming from many parts of the city, a chant in a language they do not understand but that transmits peace, leads them to imagine the number of stories that lived this city. It was the call to prayer that is repeated several times a day. The entrance to the Grand Bazaar, vendors who speak to them in Spanish, Fatima's hands, leather shoes, imitation handbags and in every store they enter they are offered tea, a symbol of friendship and hospitality. They end up on a cruise on the Bosphorus, sailing along the Golden Horn.
This adventure ended too soon, in a trip time is never too much. We imaginatively enjoyed every step they took.
We saw them in every purchase we made, in every hotel we booked, in every excursion we planned. But they always say that there are second chances, things can always be better. So here we are, your travel team waiting for the perfect moment to travel again. And may imagination lead us all to explore a new destination.
